Approximately 400,000 barrels a day of imported crude oil enters the Port
of Texas City. Thats equal to about one crude tanker ship a day. Nearly a third
of the crude comes directly from Venezuela on Aframax or Suezmax tanker

Futhermore, nearly 180,000 bbls/day of the imported crude arriving at the Port of
Texas City from South America on Aframax and Suezmax tankers
is pipelined to the ExxonMobile/Baytown and Houston-Lyondell refineries.

Crude oil arriving on Aframax or Suezmax tanker ships from the Latin American countries
of Venezuela, Mexcio, Brazil, Colombia, and Ecuador comprise nearly 70% of the total
amount of imported oil arriving in the Port of Texas City.
